Over the first three weekends in December, the Columbia Streams Art public art program hosted the first local artists’ holiday market at Finlay Park. Local artists were provided free tented merchant spaces in an area adjacent to the Landing visitor activity center. During the final weekend of December 20 and 21, 2025, the gorgeous weather encouraged great visitor attendance at the park, and the artists reported strong traffic to the market area. One artist reported she sold her entire inventory of jewelry at the park on Saturday, December 20 and was pleased to return for Sunday, December 21.
An artist from 701 Whaley Street reported he had good sales, and was thrilled by the visitor traffic and activity: “…the Park was on fire!! So many people out and enjoying it. The children’s play area was packed all day and the roller skating is a great addition to the park.”
Columbia Parks & Recreation park rangers, Finlay Park staff, and Support Services staff went above and beyond and were an exceptional component in setting up the merchant area and helping the artists out throughout the market days.
